Overview
A Real-Cybercrime Series that recaps the most notorious cybercrime cases of the recent years. It explores stories of the people working to stop cybercrime and build a safer future. While cybercrime is a technological process, it is created and performed by people. At the same time, police and security experts are trying to be a step ahead and stop them. hacker:HUNTER is looking at these people: the heroes stopping cybercrime, the motivations that drive cybercriminals and the question where the frontier between good and evil, between white and black is.

While criminals around the world try to get to the money in cash-machines with hammers, explosives, excavators or other heavy gear, the Carbanak gang found a more elegant and stealth way. They would hack into bank networks and monitor the activities there until they understood how to trigger the machines remotely to spill out all the money.

Season 2 (2019)
In 2017, the WannaCry epidemic swept around the globe. Malicious software that spread incredibly fast and encrypted computers, making no difference between victims. A cybersecurity researcher registered a URL which he found in the code of the program – and suddenly the epidemic stopped. Our second mini-series will tell the story of WannaCry, the researcher who stopped it and will ask where the modern, digital frontier is between good and evil, between Blackhat and Whitehat.
