In the grand mansion on Büyükada, the authoritarian Şakir Pasha and his devoted wife İsmet Hanım lead a family shaken by the return of their son Cevat, who has been abroad for a long time. Cevat arrives with his Italian wife and baby, and this visit brings old grievances and deep conflicts to the surface.
