Eleuterio Sánchez, alias "El Lute", a merchandise trader by birth and a chicken thief at the beginning of his career, is the reason for his first arrest.

The career he has undertaken as a robber makes a dent in his life, since he cannot live in peace, the insecurity of being arrested does not stop spinning in his head.

The Lute is pursued in his flight. This time he looks like he's going to get it, but he's stopped again.

Eleuterio is hurt, but he is a tough man and he keeps going despite everything. He changes his image and name, to be able to go unnoticed.

Eleuterio takes a new wife. His new home, the sewers. But his life is not entirely happy, his sister and her sister-in-law are arrested as they have to separate to facilitate their escape.
