It tells the story from their arrival in Western Canada until the end of the 19th Century. The program focuses on the initially positive relationship between the individual officers and the first nations people, and the deterioration of that relationship culminating in the Northwest Rebellion of 1885. It also depicts the arrival of the Midland Battalion of the Canadian Milita in Saskatchewan in 1885.
