Megan Voorhees (Natasha Lyonne), is possessed and two priests, Father McFeely (James Woods) and Father Harris (Andy Richter), must drive the demon out, but the exorcism doesn't go as planned. A year later, survivors Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans), and Shorty (Marlon Wayans) and Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), are at college, trying to forget the incidents that occurred last Halloween. Cindy is falling for Buddy (Christopher Kennedy Masterson), who loves to give wedgies, and Ray is still confused about his sexuality. Professor Oldman (Tim Curry) and his paralyzed assistant, Dwight (David Cross), have decided to do a research study at Hell House, the house where the bad exorcism took place, and disguise it as a sleep disorder study. Chaos starts as soon as Cindy arrives and meets the creepy caretaker (Chris Elliot) with the funny hand. But the house has some deep dark secrets that the group has to solve, even if they are scary or disgusting. |

The horny, drunken, and stupid teenagers are back this time in college for "Scary Movie 2," the obvious sequel to "Scary Movie." The film starts out a little different than the original, at Hell House, a place where a desperate mother (played by Veronica Cartwright) calls in two priest, Father McFeely (James Woods) and Father Harris (Andy Richter) to perform an exorcism on her daughter Megan Voorhees (Natasha Lyonne). But the exorcism goes horribly wrong. Years later the surviving teenagers Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans), Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), and her stoned brother Shorty (Marlon Wayans) all enter college with new friends Alex Monday (Tori Spelling), Buddy (Chris Masterson), and Theo (Kathleen Robertson). As the year begins Cindy starts to like Buddy, Ray is still struggling with his sexuality and dating his high school sweetheart Brenda, and Shorty is still smoking the weed. Nevertheless the seven college students allow themselves to be talked into staying at a haunted house convinced its for a sleep disorder project by their creepy professor Dwight Hartman (David Cross, who is fantastic in this type of role). So the gang packs their bags and makes their way to Hell House to meet the new caretaker Professor Oldman (Tim Curry), his butler Hanson (Chris Elliot) and his rude talking bird (voiced by Matt Friedman). Once the college students settle in they immediately notice something more sinister is going on and it is up to them to solve the case before they become the killers next victims, and threaten their chances of making it to the sequel.
The films main spoofs are "13 Ghost," "House on Haunted Hill," and "The Exorcist," with others spoofs like "Titanic" and "Charlie's Angels." Anna Faris and Regina Hall are the best in the cast of brilliant actors. These two women sell their characters so well and never go out of it. However like most sequels, they are not as good as the first and this film is no exception. Perhaps its because the films they decided to spoof are not as genuine as the films they spoofed in the original. However whatever the reason "Scary Movie 2," still delivers and keeps the series in tact. |
