| Severed is an different spin on the zombie thing, being that zombies are being created from some chemical that was made to enhance tree growth, and once they get touched by that chemical they're flesh eating critters. This is kind of "Day of the Dead" in tree-hugger country as protesters and lumberjacks band together to protect themselves against zombies. Most of this movie seems to have been lifted almost entirely from other zombie movies so some scenes will be very familiar, even though they're in a different setting. Overall it's not terrible, but the only way to find much to like here is to not have seen ANY zombie movies before. It has a good look to it, mostly, but also has plot holes you could drive a logging truck through. Not particularly well put together either. But I've seen plenty worse. 6 out of 10. |
